DISC Workshop: Using Behavioural Assessments to Increase self-awareness & Improve Collaboration with Others

What are behavioural assessments and what is their value?
Often mistaken for personality tests or being ‘horror-scopey’, behavioral assessments are tools used by organisations of all sizes, across the globe, to evaluate individuals’ patterns of behavior, communication styles, decision-making approaches and interpersonal dynamics.
When it comes to management development, these assessments are valuable because they provide insight into how current or potential leaders may interact with others, respond to stress and handle workplace challenges.
By understanding these behavioral tendencies, organisations can tailor development programmes to enhance leadership effectiveness, foster emotional intelligence and improve team dynamics.
In the modern workplace - where collaboration, adaptability and people skills are increasingly crucial - behavioural assessments help ensure that managers are not only technically competent but also capable of motivating and guiding diverse teams in complex, fast-paced environments.
TTI Success Insights Psychometric Suite and The DISC Assessment
TTI Success Insights is a global organisation that provides a suite of assessment tools designed to help individuals and organisations improve performance, communication and leadership.
One of its core offerings is the globally known DISC assessment, which evaluates behavioural and communication styles based on four primary traits: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance.
DISC helps individuals understand how they naturally respond to challenges, interact with others and approach rules and procedures.
By identifying these traits, the DISC assessment provides data that can be used to develop effective communication, team collaboration and personal development, making it a valuable tool for hiring, leadership training and performance improvement in today’s workplace.
Penguin Learning is a Master Practitioner in TTI Success Insight's psychometric suite having debriefed over 6,000 reports including DISC, Driving Forces and Emotional Intelligence.

Know Yourself Workshop (For Groups)
Designed to debrief groups/teams on the results of their completed DISC assessment and discuss team dynamics, we have designed a workshop that can be delivered as either a 3-hour face-to-face or 2-hour virtual workshop.
Below is a summary of what is covered on a ‘Know Yourself’ workshop using the TTI SI DISC assessment:
Maximum of 15-learners per workshop - ideal for smaller teams.
Learners will complete their assessments ahead of time and receive their results on the day to prevent them from misreading/misinterpreting their results.
The Facilitator will provide a brief history of the report, TTI Success Insights and highlight that the tool is recalibrated every 2-3 years by TTI SI to an 87% accuracy rate.
The Facilitator will then take the learners through the report (pages/sections differ from report to report) which typically involves Basic Characteristics, Communication Do’s and Don’t’s, Perceptions and their Natural & Adapted Behaviours - all of these give an insight in how the individual prefers to communicate, how they may be perceived by others, their natural behaviours in situations and how they may adapt when placed under pressure.
To embed the learner, the Facilitator will often relate to everyday scenarios e.g. speaking with close friends, attending a wedding where you don’t know anyone but the married couple, dealing with friend’s/family partners etc. - Once they have a clear understanding, we then relate back into the workplace I.E team members you find difficult communicating with
Finally, the Facilitator will ask the learners to consider their team, function, stakeholders, customers etc. and ask them to use their knowledge of DISC to ‘map-out’ these individuals behaviours, then compare to their own behaviours to understand how they might need to adapt their behaviours to better collaborate with them.
Virtual 1-2-1 DISC Debrief (For Individuals)
Upon completing an online DISC assessment, one of our team will reach out to book you in for a 1-hour virtual 1-2-1 debrief where we will take you through your results and work with you to create actions/considerations that you can implement to improve your development.
